(A) supplies (B) has supplied (C) was supplying (D) could supply (A) bid (B) to bid (C) bidding (D) bidden (A) machine (B) machines (C) a machine (D) the machine (A) takes place (B) was taking place (C) had taken place (D) took place 分析:這4個選項都是「take place這個字所延伸而來的」,很明顯時態有差別,一定是 屬於「文法題型」 以上的分析模式,請務必熟悉清楚! e.g. (A) rise (B) arise (C) raise (D) arouse 1. (A) Education (B) Business (C) Pharmacy (D) Humanities 2. (A) expressions (B) emotions (C) elements (D) events 3. (A) exciting (B) necessary (C) possible (D) important 4. (A) greedy (B) pleasant (C) regretful (D) sympathetic 5. (A) lower (B) higher (C) better (D) worse (A) capable of (B) different from (C) inferior to (D) responsible for (A) into (B) from (C) with (D) off (A) Otherwise (B) Therefore (C)What’s more (D) In comparison 1. (A) as long as (B) even if (C) Just as (D) Only when 2. (A) In short (B) As yet (C) By the way (D) On the contrary 3. (A) almost (B) rarely (C) however (D) relatively 4. (A) obviously (B) diligently (C) efficiently (D) superficially 5. (A) in advance (B) after a while (C) in the least (D) at most (A) Since (B) As (C) All (D) Such (A) which (B) that (C) what (D) such (A)another (B)one another (C) other (D) the other (99指) The sun is an extraordinarily powerful source of energy. In fact, the Earth 11 20,000 times more energy from the sun than we currently use. If we used more of this source of heat and light, it 12 all the power needed throughout the world. 11. (A) repeats (B) receives (C) rejects (D) reduces 12. (A) supplies (B) has supplied (C) was supplying (D) could supply Solar energy has a lot to offer. To begin with, it is a clean fuel. In contrast, fossil fuels, such as oil or coal, release 14 substances into the air when they are burned. 14. (A) diligent (B) harmful (C) usable (D) changeable 思路過程: 首先因為是形容詞,所以我先找被修飾詞,是substances,所以可知(A)選項絕不可能 ,因為A只會用來修飾人。 Its latest exhibit is a 18 of sculpted lions, snakes, horses and eagles. The 15 animals exhibited are reproductions of famous works found elsewhere in the Louvre. Called “Animals, Symbols of Power,” the exhibit 19 animals that were used by kings and emperors throughout history to symbolize the greatness of their reigns. 18. (A) collection (B) cooperation (C) completion (D) contribution 19. (A) examines (B) protects (C) represents (D) features I don’t like to go to school. Therefore, I always skip classes. Solar energy has a lot to offer. To begin with, it is a clean fuel. In contrast, fossil fuels, such as oil or coal, release 14 substances into the air when they are burned. 15 , fossil fuels will run out, but solar energy will continue to reach the Earth long after the last coal has been mined and the last oil well has run dry. 15. (A) Otherwise (B) Therefore (C)What’s more (D) In comparison 思路過程: 選項(A)屬於「條件關係」,前後的兩個句子,必須建立在「假設」之上 選項(B)屬於「因果關係」,前面接因,後面接果 選項(C)屬於「語氣加強」,後面句子要能更進一步說明前一個句子 選項(D)屬於「前後對比」,前後的兩個句子要做比較。 In contrast, fossil fuels, such as oil or coal, release 14 substances into the air when they are burned. 15 , fossil fuels will run out, but solar energy will continue to reach the Earth long after the last coal has been mined and the last oil well has run dry. Vs / have,has+ Ved / beV+Ving 過去簡單式:the other day(幾天前)/ in the past/formerly/ at one time/ then/ just now(剛才)/when young 現在/過去完成式:once/ twice/ recently/ lately/ so far/ up to now/ until now/as yet/ to date/ before/ already/ never/ 過去完成式:by the time 未來完成式:by + 未來的時間 KEY(4):使役動詞與感官動詞的被動 人 have/ make+ O+ VR(主)/Vpp(被) 人 let + O+ VR(主)/ be Vpp(被) 人 get + O+ to V(主)/ Vpp(被) 人 be made/had/let + to V S2 be seen/heard/watched + to V / Ving = S1 see/hear/ watch S2 VR/Ving KEY(5):不能使用被動的動詞 口訣:凡中文是「東西值/重/長」、「擁有」、「像」、「花費」、「發生」、「組成」 、「屬於」的字,都沒有被動 KEY(6):another和 other (單數)One... (another N) … ( still another N ).. the other N (複數)Some… (other Ns/ others)… (still other Ns)… the other Ns Another必定接單數N Other必定接複數N The other接單複數都可以,且最為最後一團 KEY(7):that, who, which, when, one, those 老是分不清!? 1. 先行詞+ 關副when/where/why/how+ 完整子句 3.(不可以擺先行詞)+ what+不完整子句(缺主詞、缺受詞) 4.S+ Vt+ that+完整子句 (當作受詞)或是 That + 完整子句+ V… 前面已經提過的東西,如果是有指定(限定的),後方在出現時使用that(單數) 、those(複數) e.g. The birth rate of Taiwan is lower than that of Japan. (that = the birth rate,因為都有限定是日本的,所以用that) 6. 前面已經提過的東西,如果沒有指定(限定的),後方在出現時使 用one(單數)、ones(複數) e.g. I don’t like red pens. Please give me blue ones. (ones = pens) KEY(8):分詞構句 解題步驟: 首先只要看到四個選項都是把某個動詞改成Ving/to V/Vs/Ved/VR… 分詞構句結構: (1) S+V, Ving/Vpp (2) (連接詞)Ving/Vpp, S+V (3) S+V + 連接詞 +Ving/Vpp 範例:91學 loning is the genetic process of producing copies of an individual. Will the genetic copies of a human really have“one mind”as ____ in this story? (A) describes (B)described (C) describe (D) describing 思路過程: 找出被刪掉的主詞→ one mind (原先當形容詞子句的先行詞/主詞) 找出被刪掉的連接詞 → as (這裡沒有刪掉) 主詞one mind 和 describe 的關係 → one mind is described(被動) 所以確認最後答案為 described KEY(9)變形假設法 只要看到表達「建議、命令、請求、重要、必要、緊急」的單字,後方that子句的 動詞請使用VR。 Advise/order/require/important/necessary/essential/ crucial… KEY(10)否定詞 1.準否定詞 hardly/rarely/batrely/few/little/less 2. …not…but …unless… … too…to.. Without/But for/ If it had not been for… No sooner had Vpp than Ved… 4. 部份否定 not both/ not all/ not always 5. Nothing but/ only/ nothing more than/ nothing other than(只不過是) 6. Cannot but VR = cannot help Ving = cannot help but VR = have no choice but to V KEY(11)倒裝句 要倒裝的情況:地方副詞擺句首、否定詞擺句首、only所引導的副詞子句擺句首、假設法 省略If… → 出現了if(有可能會被省略,但是句子也會倒裝)、出現了 would/could/should/might 解題關鍵:找出其中一個動作的時態(題目必考另一個),然後鎖定以下句型: If S+ Ved/ were+ adj,N/ 助動詞過去式+VR, S+would*+VR (與現在事實相反) If S+ had Vpp, S+would*+have Vpp (與過去事實相反) If S+ were to V, S+would*+VR (未來極不可能發生的假設) If S+ should V, S+would*+VR (未來發生可能性很小的假設、萬一) If S + Vs, S+ will/can/shall/may/must + VR (未來很有可能發生的假設) *would/could/should/might 都可以用 範例:99指 If we used more of this source of heat and light, it 12 all the power needed throughout the world. (A) supplies (B) has supplied (C) was supplying (D) could supply 思路過程:看到if+ 選項中有could = 此題考假設法 鎖定句子使用的時態 used → Ved 屬於「與現在事實相反的假設」 If S+ Ved/ were+ adj,N/ 助動詞過去式+VR, S+would*+VR 所以後方應選 could + supply (VR),結束。 KEY(13):worth 用法 This book is worth reading. = this book is worthy of reading.(主動) = this book is worthy to be read.(被動) = It is worth your while to read this book. = It is worthwhile to read/reading this book. KEY(14):since 特殊用法 如果since前後方的句子使用的時態一樣,這裡的since 解做「因為」! e.g. Since it is so hot, let's go swimming. KEY(15):授與動詞 Give/offer 人 物 = provide/supply 人 with 物 Give/offer 物 to 人 = provide 物 for 人 = supply 物 to 人 KEY(16):單複數問題 The number of students is increasing.(因為主詞是the number) A number of students are in the classroom. (主詞是students) KEY(17):「組成」的句型 小部份 comprise/compose/make up 大部分 大部分 comprise/consist of/ be composed of/ be made up of KEY(18):few, little, many, much, late Few → fewer → fewest 最少的(+可數) Little → less → least 最少的(+不可數) Many/much → more → most 最多的 Late → later → latest 最新的(時間) Late → latter → last 最後的(順序) KEY(19):prefer, rather than Prefer+ N/Ving + to + N/Ving = would rather +VR than +VR = prefer to+ VR rather than + VR KEY(20):either, neither, both, as well as, not only but also Either he or she is a student.(看最接近的she) Neither he nor I am to blame. (看最接近的I) Both he and I are leaving. (兩個人都要算,所以用are) Not only you but also he is going to school. (看最接近的he) He as well as I likes to go to school. 物 be used to VR 某物被用來去… 2. 人 get/be used to Ving/N 某人習慣去…(沒有專指過去或現在) 3. 人/物 used to VR 過去習慣會… 4. It used to be that S Ved 5. There used to be N 但現在沒有 KEY(23):複合形容詞 造字結構: 修飾詞(adj/adv/N)- 主被動(Ving/Vpp)+ 被修飾的名詞 至於主被動決定在於被修飾的名詞 e.g. a good-looking man (因為是man所以是主動looks good) a well-dressed woman (因為是woman所以是被動is dressed well) a heart-breaking movie (因為是movie所以是主動breaks (one’s) heart) KEY(24):「被視為」句型 A + be+ regarded* + as B =A + be considered (to be) B *regarded/thought of/ looked upon/referred to/viewed/perceived皆可以用。 KEY(25):「花費」句型 It takes 人 時間 to V It costs 人 金錢 to V (東西+ cost +金錢) 人 spend 時間/金錢 Ving/ on N KEY(26):「量詞」句型 A large number of Ns A large amount/deal/sum of N(不可數) KEY(27):lack 用法 I lack money = I am lacking in money = I rubbed her for lack of money. KEY(28):until 用法 S1+ not V1 until S2 V2 = Not until S2 V2+ V1 S1(後面的子句倒裝) = It is not until S2 V2 that S1 V1 (強調句型) = Only when S2 V2 + V1 S1(後面的子句倒裝) 不能只讀這些,還是抓一本文法書來K吧,這些只是給你當作檢視用的! 4. 的感謝或喜歡、特 色(be famous for)、等值交換(buy 東西 for 金錢) from → 來自…、除去…(protect/prevent A from B)、原因(suffer from) of → of+N=adj(屬於..)、it is adj of 人 to V、奪取(rob 人 of 東西) to → 往… 的是( to one’s surprise/content…)、到…的程度(to one’ s degree) with → with+N= adv、有著、藉著、隨著 against → 反對…、防止… at → 價格、速度、比率、溫度、高度、年齡 in → 穿著…、用… 周圍 off → 離開 among → 在… 結果(turn A into B、persuade A into Ving) like → 像、例如 over → 覆蓋、遍及…、超過、再次 through → 穿過、透過… under → 在… The sun is an extraordinarily powerful source of energy. In fact, the Earth 11 20,000 times more energy from the sun than we currently use. If we used more of this source of heat and light, it 12 all the power needed throughout the world. We can harness energy from the sun, or solar energy, in many ways. For instance, many satellites in space are equipped with large panels whose solar cells transform sunlight directly 13 electric power. These panels are covered with glass and are painted black inside to absorb as much heat as possible.Solar energy has a lot to offer. 11. (A) repeats (B) receives (C) rejects (D) reduces 12. (A) supplies (B) has supplied (C) was supplying (D) could supply 13. (A) into (B) from (C) with (D) off 14. (A) diligent (B) harmful (C) usable (D) changeable 15. (A) Otherwise (B) Therefore (C) What’s more (D) In comparison Signs asking visitors to keep their hands off the art are everywhere in the Louvre Museum, Paris. But one special sculpture gallery invites art lovers to allow their hands to 16 the works. The Louvre’s Tactile Gallery, targeted at the blind and visually 17 , is the only space in the museum where visitors can touch the sculptures, with no guards or alarms to stop them. Its latest exhibit is a 18 of sculpted lions, snakes, horses and eagles. The 15 animals exhibited are reproductions of famous works found elsewhere in the Louvre. Called “Animals, Symbols of Power,” the exhibit 19 animals that were used by kings and emperors throughout history to symbolize the greatness of their reigns. The exhibit, opened in December 2008, 20 scheduled to run for about three years. During guided tours on the weekends, children can explore the art with blindfolds on. 16. (A) fix up (B) run over (C) take away (D) knock off 17.(A) impair (B) impairs (C) impaired (D) impairing 18. (A) collection (B) cooperation (C) completion (D) contribution 19. (A) examines (B) protects (C) represents (D) features 20. (A) is (B) being (C) has (D) having 參考答案:11~20 BDABC DCADA 參考解析: 11. (A)vt. 減少 Key: 本題考文意理解,關鍵在於前一句「太陽能量很多」,這一句的「… than we currently use(現在的使用量)」,以及下一句的「if we used more of this source… 12. Key: 本題考文法,又從「if we used …」 If + S + Ved/were…, S + would/could/should/might + VR※ 13. Key: 本題考動詞與其介係詞固定搭配,關鍵是空格前方不遠處有transform,其固定用法 為transform A into B (把A轉成B),故答案選(A) 14. (A)adj. 15. (A)adv. 16. (A)v. 關鍵在於後方有「is the only place… where visitors can touch…(這是為一一個地方.... 18. (A)n. 關鍵在於空格後方有lions, snakes, horse, eagles等皆同為動 物,再加上其後方還有the 15 animals… reproductions of famous works… 19. (A)vt. 關鍵在於animals後方的形容詞子句 were used by kings and emperors throughout history to symbolize the greatness of their reigns (被史上 國王和皇帝御用來象徵自己政權之偉大). ※以下為截錄Longman Online Dictionary對for的一段解釋※ 5. used to say how long an action or situation continues for: e.g. Bake the cake for 40 minutes. (單純用Vs) e.g. We had been talking for a good half hour. (完成式) e.g. He's been off work for a while(完成式) ------------------------------- 打字打到頭昏眼花@@ 希望沒有打錯字....
